Not the way we do it. We only fit raised boarding on a sub-frame that lifts the deck above your 270mm insulation, keeping it uncompressed with an airflow gap beneath — squashed insulation can lose up to half its performance.
Storage boarding, ladders and insulation don't need planning permission. Replacement roof windows usually don't either; brand-new openings can need building regs approval, which we advise on and arrange.
