This policy explains what we do with the personal information you give us through this website. We are North West Lofts (“we”, “us”), a loft services business based in St Helens, Merseyside.

What we collect

The only way this website collects personal information is the enquiry form on our contact page. When you use it, we collect:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address
• Your postcode or the location of the property
• The service you are interested in
• Anything you write in the message box

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, payment card details or any special category data (such as health information) through this form.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use what you send us to reply to your enquiry, arrange a survey, and give you a quote. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — you have contacted us asking for a quote, and replying to you is what you would reasonably expect. If you go on to book work, we use your details to carry out and administer that contract.

We will not add you to a marketing list or send you unrelated promotional email.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for 12 months and then deleted. If you become a customer, we keep your records for six years after the work is completed, because we may need them for guarantee claims, insurance and HMRC requirements.

Our website also keeps a technical log of emails it has sent, so we can tell whether an enquiry reached us. That log is deleted automatically after 30 days.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. It is handled by:

• Hostinger — hosts this website and our email. Your enquiry sits on their servers.
• Our own staff and fitters — only the details needed to survey or complete your job.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party tracking pixels, and it is not connected to Google Analytics. The notice shown on your first visit is there to tell you that — there is no tracking for you to opt out of. Dismissing it saves a single entry in your own browser so we do not show it again; that entry never leaves your device and tells us nothing about you.

Two technical things are worth mentioning for transparency:

• Our host, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and diagnostics.
• We load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google’s servers when you view a page.

If you log in to the website as an administrator, WordPress sets session cookies. That does not apply to ordinary visitors.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
• Have it corrected if it is wrong
• Ask us to delete it
• Object to us using it, or ask us to restrict how we use it
• Ask us to transfer it to someone else

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
